National Heritage Media Art Cheongju

〈2026 National Heritage Media Art Cheongju Yongdusaji Cheoldanggan, etc.〉 is a nighttime cultural event that expresses the historical value of cultural heritage in the old downtown area of Cheongju (Yongdusaji Cheoldanggan, Mangseonru, Apgaksu, Chungcheongdo Byeongmajeoldosayeongmun) through media art. The theme of the event is 'Cheongju's Treasures Opened by Light,' reinterpreting the symbolism of Juseong, Cheongju's old topographical characteristic, through modern media art and transforming the old downtown area into a stage for a great voyage, telling a story of visitors searching for the value (treasures) within the national heritage of Cheongju's thousand-year history. It is an event featuring media facades utilizing four cultural heritages, a 3D sound tour, photo zones, and citizen participation content. It runs for 22 days from October 3 to October 24, 2026, and operating hours are daily from 19:00 to 22:00.

- Treasure of Light, First Scenery Millennium Voyage (Yongdusaji Cheoldanggan): Announcing the beginning of a journey in which 'Juseong', awakened through children's drawings, searches for treasures within the national heritage of the old downtown
- Treasure of Light, Second Scenery of Wisdom, Records of the Past (Cheongju Mangseonru Pavilion): After defeating the Red Turbans, the story of scholars unfolds based on the names of those who passed the state examination inscribed on Mangseonru Pavilion
- Treasure of Light, Third Scenery Life, Memory of Apgaksu (Cheongju Apgaksu): A single water droplet becomes the narrator of a time journey, telling the story of 900 years of Cheongju history
- Treasure of Light, Fourth Scenery Protection, Tunnel of Time (Chungcheongdo Byeongma Jeoldosa Yeongmun): Depicting Cheongju's resolve to overcome the scars of the Imjin War and become a steadfast shield as a 'Tunnel of Time'
- Treasure of Light, Fifth Scenery Wish, Mast of Juseong (Yongdusaji Cheoldanggan): Starting with the story of the great flood of Goryeo and the dream of Monk Hyewon, the mast of Juseong completed through Goryeo's casting technology

- Sixth Scenery, Sound of History, Footsteps of a Millennium: Immersive audio tour content that starts from the dense relics of Central Park and walks through every corner of Cheongju Eupseong based on the national heritage of the old downtown
- Seventh Scenery, Space of Creation, Tomorrow Blooming with Light: Regenerating idle spaces in the old downtown as pop-up exhibition spaces to revitalize the declining commercial district, and implementing convergence content that combines analog spaces with digital media technology
- Eighth Scenery, Street of Light, Steps Beyond Time: Connecting major national heritage sites such as Mangseonru Pavilion, Apgaksu, Chungcheongdo Byeongma Jeoldosa Yeongmun, and Yongdusaji Cheoldanggan with lighting and photo zones to create a seamless viewing route
