Yeoncheon Gorangpo-gu History Park

삼국시대부터 전략적 요충지로 임진강을 통한 물자교류 중심역할을 하던 나루터입니다. 1930년대 개성과 한성의 물자교류를 통하여 화신백화점의 분점이 자리잡을 정도로 번성하였으나 한국전쟁과 남북분단으로 쇠락합니다. 또한 1.21 무장공비 침투사태의 침투로로도 유명합니다. 연천고랑포구역사공원은 고랑포구의 새겨진 역사와 지리적 특성을 생상하게 구현·재현하였습니다. 가상·증강현실을 통해 실감나는 역사 및 안보 체험이 가능하며 아이들의 놀이공간과 다목적 공간(식사장소 포함) 및 세미나실로 구성되어 있습니다.

Yeoncheon Hall

연천군 연천읍에 있는 연천회관은 이름에서 느껴지는 분위기와는 달리 카페다. 재인폭포와 가까워서 연천에 방문하면서 들르기 좋은 위치에 있다. 콘크리트 벽돌로 쌓은 외관과 내부 또한 독특하고 세련된 디자인으로 꾸몄다. 야외에 그늘막을 둔 넓은 평상이 있어 자연 속에서 연천회관만의 시그니처 음료와 여러 가지 종류의 맛있는 빵과 떡을 함께 즐길 수 있다. 인근 고인돌 공원과 연계하여 가볍게 산책하며 하루를 즐길 수 있다.

Memorial Tower of Baengmagoji Battlefield and Memorial Museum

백마고지 전투는 한국전쟁(1950. 6·25 ~ 53. 7. 27)기간인 1952년 10월 철원군 철원읍 대마리 3km 북방에 위치한 무명의 한 작은 고지를 놓고 한국군 보병 제 9사단(사단장 김종오)과 중공 제38군 3개사단이 전력을 기울여 쟁탈전을 벌인 끝에 우리국군의 승리로 매듭지어진 전투를 말한다. 1952년 10월 6일부터 10일 동안 해발이 불과 395m 밖에 되지 않는 고지 하나를 빼앗기 위해 아군과 적군 2만 여명의 사망자가 발생하였으며, 전투기간 중 발사한 포탄은 적측 5만5천발, 아군측 22만발이며,12차례의 공방전으로 24회나 고지의 주인이 바뀌기도 했다. 혈전사투로 처절하게 변모한 산용(山容)이 흡사 백마가 누워있는 모습과 비슷하다 하여 백마고지로 불리게 되었다고한다.
백마고지 위령비는 백마고지 전투에서 희생된 아군과중공군 등 17,535명(아군3,146명, 중공군14,389명)의 영혼을 진혼하기 위하여 건립한 것으로, 회고의 장 · 기념의 장 · 다짐의 장 등 세 부분으로 나누어 처절했던 격전의 현장을 기억하고자 건립되었다. ''회고의장''에는 전사자를 추도하는 위령비와 분향소가, ''기념의 장''에는 통일의 염원과 전승을 기념하는 전적비와 함께 당시 백마부대장이었던 김종오(金鍾五)장군의 유품을 전시한 기념관도 자유의 종각이 건립되어 현재 국민의 안보교육장으로 활용되고 있다.

Cheorwon Korean Workers' Party Headquarters

The Workers' Party Building (勞動黨舍) in Gwanjeon-ri, Cheorwon-eup, Gangwon-do, is a three-story building completed in 1946. Until the outbreak of the Korean War (6.25 War), it was used as the North Korean Workers' Party building. Today, the building suffered heavy damage during the Korean War, with the entire structure blackened and densely covered with shell and bullet marks. However, this appearance reminds people of the Korean War and the reality of Korea's division, so it has also been used as a filming location for music videos by famous singers and as a venue for famous concerts. Currently, the Cheorwon Workers' Party Building is operated by Cheorwon County (鐵原郡) as part of a security tourism course, and many tourists visit it. In February 2001, it was registered as a modern cultural heritage and is under government-level protection.

Goseokjeong Flower Field

This is a flower garden created near Goseokjeong, a representative tourist attraction in Cheorwon. Colorful flowers in red, yellow, and purple—such as cockscomb, sunflowers, kochia (bassia broom), Korean chrysanthemums, buckwheat flowers, zinnias, and globe amaranths—each show off their own beauty. Wherever you take a photo, you can capture clear and beautiful pictures.

Chilseong Observatory

The Chilseong Observatory was built in 1991, and after about 21 years, the building and some internal viewing facilities were partially damaged and deteriorated, so on April 19, 2013, it was newly remodeled to suit a modern sense and developed as a security tourism product. On the day of the tour, bring your ID, fill out an application at the Chilseong Observatory Information Center, and depart simultaneously with the guide on board. At the Chilseong Observatory, you can see the Geumseongcheon Stream, the only stream in South Korea that flows north and then into the Peace Dam, enjoy the beautiful scenery of North Korea's mountains and fields, and observe wildlife within the DMZ.
