Danjong Culture Festival

The Danjong Culture Festival, a major festival of Yeongwol-gun in Gangwon State, is a historic cultural event held annually since 1967 in memory of King Danjong, the 6th monarch of the Joseon dynasty. The festival includes a range of activities and programs open to all visitors.

Program

1. Main programs: Reenactment of Director Danjong, costume procession, star parade, Danjong ancestral rite, arrowroot tug-of-war, Queen Jeongsun selection contest, performance events, royal food contest, 2nd Danjong’s Gourmet Festival
2. Traditional event program: Yeongsandaejae
3. Literature/Exhibition/Participation Program: Local artist exhibition event, village harmony health gymnastics competition, food court, traditional food reproduction experience, academic symposium, 26th Essay Day, general/student essay, sketch/comic drawing contest
4. New programs: wedding ceremony, end-of-life exhibition, preliminary performance, national choir competition, etc.
5. Permanent programs: Kaebi Noliter, Remind Traditional Wedding, Jangneung Experience Zone, Yeounae/Youth Market, Multicultural Food Experience, Mission Stamp, Yeongteori Market, Fireworks and Drone Show, Donggang Cafe, Smart Tourism Service Provided
