2026 Wonju Rooftop Film Festival

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Wonju Rooftop Film Festival is a non-competitive free film festival held on rooftops in Wonju on summer nights, planned by young people in Wonju to provide opportunities to enjoy independent art films in a city lacking screening and viewing opportunities. It also aims to foster local film communities and personnel, and through the opening film 'Gangwon Short Film Selection' it will screen and introduce works by directors from the province. In addition, from reviewing and selecting screening candidates to planning side programs, choosing venues, and running booths, the festival is planned with audience (citizen) activists at the center, giving it meaning as a 'community cinema' led by citizens.
