The Phoenix Jeju Glass House

Glass House, located in Seopjikoji, Jeju, is a work by Tadao Ando, considered a master of modern architecture. The Japanese-born architect enjoys great popularity in Korea as well for his original ideas that poetically elevate exposed concrete and for buildings in harmony with nature and light. Glass House's straight lines and square planes feel like the artist's signature. The building extends in a bracket shape toward the sea, as if stretching out. It looks simple, but Tadao Ando's delicate charm is hidden throughout. Glass House consists of the Floist Bakery Cafe and the prop shop Favorite Island. In particular, the Floist Bakery Cafe lets you enjoy the beauty of the Jeju sea beyond the expansive full-glass windows, making it a great place to savor a romantic atmosphere. Around sunset, the entire cafe is bathed in red glow.
