Yonghwa Beach Campground

Yonghwa Beach Campground is a campsite located at Yonghwa Beach, famous for snorkeling even in Samcheok. It is operated by the fishing village cooperative and has no separate reservation system, so you can call ahead and then visit. However, it generally operates in a relaxed manner: even if you visit without prior inquiry, if you find a spot, they come around in the late afternoon to collect the fee. There are no fixed deck or site divisions; you can set up reasonably among the pine trees, and the cost varies depending on tent size, etc. It is one of the few gem-like places where you can secure a spot even in the peak of midsummer without a reservation. The facilities are somewhat old, but the cool sea and sunrise scenery more than make up for it.
